Welcome back to Daily Bible Promises with a Twist! And today, as always, we’re going to start off by reading one singular Bible verse that’s written on this Bible promise card. And today, that verse is Psalm 107 verse 9. “He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.”

So, let’s put that one verse into context and I’m going to be reading from Message Bible, from verse 4 to verse 9. “Some of you have wandered for years in the desert, looking but not finding a place to live. Half starved and parched with thirst, staggering and stumbling on the brink of exhaustion. Then in your desperate condition, you called out to God. He got you out in the nick of time. He put your feet on a wonderful road that took you straight to a good place to live. So thank God for his marvelous love, for his miracle mercy to the children he loves. He poured great draughts of water down parched throats, the starved and hungry got plenty to eat.”

We would consider somebody extremely foolish in the natural if they decided to go out into the wilderness and forage on their own with only a couple of months provision and without any means to find sustaining nourishment in the environment that they chose to walk into. Many of these hikers and supposed survivalists swallow their pride and turn back and head to civilization where they can get help.

However there are many Christians who wandered away from spiritual civilization, so to speak, whose pride overwhelms them and they refused to turn back and to admit that they do need the rest of the body of Christ, after all, and that God meant for us to be working together as one unit. Each person contributing to the whole so we are one body working together.

If you are finding it hard to admit that you actually do need your brothers and sisters in Christ, soberly consider your spiritual health at this moment. Are you thriving? Are you expanding? Are you growing in your faith? Are you sharing with other people? Are your spiritual muscles becoming stronger or are you slowly withering away? Consumed with just getting enough sustenance so you can make it through the next day with no thought of feeding others that might be around you.

If you’re in that place, call out to the Lord and He will get you out in the nick of time. He will take you straight to a safe place and a good place to live. And He will pour buckets of refreshment over you and satisfy that hunger in your heart that only He can feed.
