A Personal Note from Katherine to Frequent Visitors

Hi Everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog that isn’t an inspirational thought, word, or a devotion. I thought some of you might be interested in what is going on in my life and what I see coming down the road as far as my Internet ministry goes.

Personal News

If you’ve read my weekly thoughts as of late, you probably have picked up a theme. Change and stepping past fear. So what is up? Over the past few years, I’ve been sensing the Lord leading me out of the church that I attended for decades. You can imagine this was not an easy decision as I loved and still do love the pastors and the congregation. Their doctrine is sound as well. However, it became increasingly clear that I just wasn’t called to be on the boat they set sail down. I stayed longer than I should have because I was frankly afraid to step out for a myriad of reasons I might go into another day.

As I mentioned in an earlier blog, as soon as I finally did take the jump, God was there to catch me. I truly believe that the church I am now attending is where I need to be in this season. I haven’t felt this excited about what God has in store for His people and through His people to the world around them, for a long, long time.

Ministry News

I am broadening and modernizing my reach on the Internet, such as using YouTube more as well as being more diligent with my Instagram presence. I recently was able to buy a better lighting system that will dramatically improve the quality of my videos. I would love if you would subscribe to my YouTube Channel, watch the videos and ‘like’ and ‘comment’, by doing so, you will encourage others to join in the dialogue. Share my videos if you think they would be of help to others. My recent video on mental illness and suicide saved at least two lives, and that makes it all worthwhile.

I strongly feel that the Internet is MY mission field and I am reaching out in whatever way I can. I know many people have left Facebook, I am still active there, to be a light as much as I am able. I can also be found on MeWe, a great alternative to Facebook. No spying, no social engineering. And don’t forget, there is Twitter!

I am considering revising my first two books, “Seasons” and “Dare to Call Him Friend” to include a Personal Application for every chapter in each book. As there are about 90 chapters in each book, that will take a bit of work. Tell me what you think. Would you be interested in purchasing the revised edition if you already bought the first edition?

Patreon
The following is for those who feel a connection of some sort with this ministry.

As most of my longtime Internet friends know, I am disabled and live on a disability pension that just covers my rent, food, insurance, phone, and the other simple necessities of life. However, because I am not allowed to receive direct donations to cover expenses for this ministry, I have been feeling the pinch more and more, especially in 2018. What expenses you might ask? Web host fees, domain name renewals, a higher speed of internet than I would normally use, upgrading my camera and mic system, conference fees, books I read for inspiration, etc. If I publish another book, editors and book cover designers will need to be paid.

I AM allowed to earn a legitimate income up to a certain cap without jeopardizing my disability pension. This is where Patreon comes in and this where a disclaimer comes in. No matter what, this ministry will continue, no matter how far I might have to stretch my pennies. By the way, we don’t even have pennies in Canada any longer. God has supplied my needs in the past and I fully expect Him to do in the future.

Patreon is a platform where creators, such as myself, and those who believe in what they are creating can reach out to each other in a collaborative fashion. I offer you a tangible reward for a monthly pledge on your part. I will go into further detail on my Patreon account. But, in a nutshell, those who choose to partner with me will receive, depending on what tier they choose, exclusive access to short inspirational videos that will have a 24-hour expiry date, PDF copies of my books, invitations to a Patreon Only Facebook Live once a month, etc. There are some other goodies I threw in as well. All Patrons will have access to a community area as well. Check it out!

Patreon does keep some of the funds for itself, I wouldn’t expect it to survive as a business if it didn’t keep a percentage for itself! Patreon will issue me an official statement as well as report my income to the government. As this is not considered a donation, no tax receipts will be issued to you.

Feel free to private message me over on Facebook, if you have further questions!

I love you all,

Katherine
