It’s not Just in the Sweet By-and-By

God’s strengthening comfort is available to us today and not just in the sweet by-and-by when He dries all our tears. His comfort strengthens and bolsters us and keeps us grounded, right now, right when we need it!

Hi and welcome back to Daily Bible Promises with a Twist. And as always, we start off with the New International Version, Revelation 21 verse 4. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes.”

And to put that verse into context, the complete verse, we’re going to be reading from the new American Standard Bible from verse 2 to verse 4. “And I saw the holy city. the New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying behold the tabernacle of God is among men, and he shall dwell among them and they shall be his people and God himself shall be among them and he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes and There shall no longer be any death, there shall no longer be any mourning or crying or pain. The first things have passed away.” And in some translations, the first things refers to the old things.

Quite often, verse 4 is Used by others when they are comforting to somebody who has recently gone through a deep loss. But it’s usually said in a way something like this “Oh well, you know life is hard here on Earth. You know you just got to get through it. This is going to be rough, but you’re going to do okay, but just wait one day and the sweet by-and-by. All of our tears will be dried and everything will be made right once again.” I look forward to that day.

However, I believe that because Jesus is the same yesterday today and tomorrow (Hebrews 13:8) that His comfort as our bridegroom is available to us right now, and His comfort will strengthen us and bolster us and holds us up when we go through grievous loss. We don’t have to wait to receive His comfort.

Not only is comfort available from our bridegroom, but comfort is also available to us from the Father of all Comfort (2 Cor 1:3-4) who comforts us in our afflictions. Our compassionate and loving Heavenly Father’s strengthening comfort is available for you right now as you’re either watching this video or reading the transcript.

You don’t have to wait for the sweet by-and-by to receive that comfort that your heart is desperately seeking. Open your heart to His comfort today and take that comfort in the way that He gives it to you. To strengthen you, to encourage you, and to give you what you need to live an abundant life today.
