I stand with people around the world as we pray for the people of Brussels and those internationals who just happened to be traveling through the nation. My prayers and hopes are sent out for those lives are forever changed because of the hate crimes committed against Belgium. My heart breaks for those who grief the loss of their loved ones. However, God’s love wins. We won’t give into fear; we won’t give into suspicion and polarization. I stand with the people of Turkey as well, a peaceful, progressive nation that has been terrorized in the last weeks. May the American press wake up and cover the slaughter that is taking place in a country that is strategically placed between the Middle East and the West.
I feel the Lord’s strong urging, even in the midst of our grief and shock, to resist speculative thoughts, racial profiling, and scape-goating. He reminds us this day that our true enemy: Satan and his spiritual cohorts. Isis is merely a pawn in Satan’s hand. God’s love wins. I feel God say, “If my people remain focused on Me and are ready to listen to my voice, then obey my directives, they shall see the pulling down of this stronghold.”
2 Corinthians 10:3-5 – “For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.”
I feel the Lord say, “Resist the urge to avert your eyes and pretend you can’t do anything about the situation. I am calling you to action, I am calling you to pray, I am calling you to stand. Now is not the time to slumber. Now is the time to be aware and alert. Do not let fear cause you to dull your senses through mindless distractions.”
Awake Church, and stay awake! Now is not the time to retreat from the world. Now is the time to pray and go out of your way to display acts of sacrificial love. Now is not the time to take on a ‘us or them’ mentality. Now is not the time to build your compounds. Do not keep at bay those who are in desperate need of My hope.”
Ephesians 6:10-18 -“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.”
1 Corinthians 13:13 – ” So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
