Feeling Like You’ve Been Kicked to the Curb?

Do you ever feel like you’ve been kicked to the curb and left there to rot like a piece of rubbish? Has your heart been broken so often that you feel like one big gaping wound? There is Someone in the business of restoring and placing outcasts right back to where they belong.

[00:00:00] Hi. Welcome back to Daily Bible Promises with a Twist. And as usual, I’ll be reading from the New International Version first. Psalm 147:3 -“He heals the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds.” And Psalm 147:3 in the New American Standard Bible says the same thing. “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

[00:00:33] Let’s go back just one verse to verse two in Psalm 147. “The Lord builds up Jerusalem. He gathers the outcasts of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up wounds.”

[00:00:52] Have you ever felt like an outcast? Have you ever felt passed by? Have you ever felt brokenhearted and people didn’t see your pain because they just walked on by? Well when I read this verse today, I was immediately drawn to “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

[00:01:16] And I thought of Jesus’ parable of the Good Samaritan. And if there ever was an outcast, it was the poor, beaten-up man left by the side of the road, discarded like a piece of trash. People just walked right on by him and paid no attention to him. And yet there was one man who stopped and helped, the Good Samaritan in this case. He bound the man’s physical wounds, but I also believe there was an emotional healing that took place as that Samaritan stopped and took care of the man. There is nothing worse than feeling neglected or forgotten about, especially when you’re in a place of great pain and suffering.

[00:02:14] Perhaps you feel like an outcast. Perhaps you’re carrying a lot of wounds and pains from your past. Perhaps you’ve been crying out to God that He would send people your way to bring healing and restoration in your life. Hold onto this verse, with everything you got. Even if you feel like you’re drawing your last spiritual breath take a hold of this. “He gathers the outcasts of Israel he heals the brokenhearted and he binds up their wounds.”

[00:02:53] I wanted to pray for you right now if this is hitting you right where it hurts. Father God, I pray that You would bind up the wounds of those who are hurting and who feel that they are outcasts and feel that people just pass them by without bringing healing and restoration. Father, will You send safe people, safe members of Your body along their way to be practical expressions of Your love, Your compassion, and Your healing grace. Amen.
