I’m aware that this is a short message today, but I felt God’s weight on this one. Sometimes, we can speak past where God has spoken and taint his message with our reasoning.
Someone needs to know that God has heard your cry for a prodigal in your life, someone who once walked with him but has turned away. Perhaps there is wounding in his or her life, caused by a spiritual leader; perhaps their heart grew bitter. Whatever the reason they might have for walking away, God has NOT given up on them and he never will. He is actively moving behind the scenes, doing everything he can to get their attention. Your job remains the same. Keep on being a light, keep on loving, keep on being steadfast and consistent. Keep on being brave and trust God. Although it goes against your instincts, trust him and obey when he asks you to step back so he can do his part.
God will not lose heart! From creation to now, God has never given up on his stubborn, rebellious children, and He never will. He is always loving, constantly caring, and continually creating ways to remind us that He is there and He is aware, achingly aware, of our hearts and our desperate need for Him. Remember, God sent His Son as a sign of his all-in, no-holds-barred heart of love that will do anything to woo us back into His arms.
God IS moving mountains; you will see a shift. Hold on, stay strong, even in the waiting.
Personal Application
Read “Praying for your Prodigal,” a practical yet profound teaching that has been applied by many. As a result, many have seen their prodigals turn back to God and family. The article will not provide you with a magical formula; it’s all about our heart posture.
