A cautionary and sober word to my followers:
You may have been fortunate enough to be born in and raised in a Christian culture, but you must be born again by deliberately choosing to surrender your past, present and future to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. You must confess and repent by turning away from your wrongdoings (sin).
You might have a praying mother or grandmother. You even attend church once in a while with a loving relative or a family friend who lets you know they are praying for your health and your protection from harm. Their prayers are powerful, yes, and you are grateful for their faithful prayer coverage. But they can’t save you from the earthly and eternal consequences of your deliberate choices to do wrong.
There comes a time when you have to choose for yourself. A Christian culture won’t save you. You can’t enter into a relationship with God by riding on the coattails of those who have gone before you. Today might be that day. Choose this day who you will follow.
John 3:3-13, 16 (NLT) – Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”“What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?”
Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit… For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
