Is It Time to Go Make Up with Father God?

Reconciliation – a big word and a process that isn’t always easy. However, Jesus’ sacrifice cleared THE path so we can enter into a full relationship with His Father, who waits with anticipation. He longs for us to get to know him. Let’s read 2 Cor 5:21 together.

[00:00:00] Hi Everyone, and welcome back to Daily Bible Promises with a Twist. If you’re wondering what the twist is, there’s an arrow pointing to the corner right now, to a link that, if you are watching this on a computer or your smartphone, you can click, and it will lead you to the playlist. And the first video on that playlist explains it all.

[00:00:19] I’m reading from the NIV, that’s what these Bible cards are from. Second Corinthians 5:21. “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us. So that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

[00:00:36] So let’s go straight to the New American Standard Bible verse 21. Chapter 5 Second Corinthians. “He made him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf that we might become the righteousness of God in him.”

[00:00:52] It basically says the same thing. But there’s a lot of hes and hims in that verse so we need to backtrack a bit, read this in context so we can figure out who is talking, who is the first him, who was he reconciling us to, etc.

[00:01:10] I am going to be reading up from Verse 17 to verse 21. “Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature. The old things have passed away. Behold new things have come. Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us a ministry of reconciliation. Namely that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses or their sins against them. And he committed to us the word of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors of Christ, as though God were entreating through us. We beg you on behalf of Christ be reconciled to God. He made him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf. That we might become the righteousness of God in him.”

[00:02:10] I would encourage you to go to Isaiah 53 and read that to find out just how much Christ identified with our sins when he was nailed to the cross.

[00:02:22] And I am going to personalize verse 20 because I feel that Paul’s heart is my heart to you. If you are feeling a separation from God, perhaps you have never really understood what Christianity is all about. It’s about a relationship with Jesus Christ and with God His Father and with the Holy Spirit. And that reconciliation, that relationship, can only be done through us going through the sacrifice that Jesus paid for us on the cross. That’s what reconciliation is all about.

[00:02:59] Perhaps you’ve been following God for many years. You consider yourself a Christian but there’s distance between you and God. Perhaps you’re angry at God. Perhaps there hasn’t been answers to prayer in the way that you wanted Him to answer them. For whatever reason, there’s a distance there.

[00:03:19] God is inviting you into a powwow. If we can put it that way. He wants to talk with you and He wants to bring reconciliation between you and Him. And the only way that reconciliation ever would have been possible is through the shed blood of His Son. So, give Jesus everything that He paid for being reconciled to God.

[00:03:45] “He made him who knew no send to be sin on our behalf.” God the Father made Jesus Christ His Son, the second member of the Trinity, who knew no sin, to become sin on our behalf that we might become the righteousness of God through Jesus. And it is only through Christ’s sacrifice that we can enter into the throne room.

[00:04:09] So take some time today. And give Jesus what he paid for. Go makeup with your Father God.
