Today is a departure from the regular format of Daily Bible Promises with a Twist. I must honour the life of a man who lived with integrity, passion, and love. Billy Graham, thank you for all you did to advance Christ’s Kingdom here on earth. I hope one day to meet you and thank you for the profound impact you had on my world.

Hi there and welcome back to Daily Bible promises with a Twist. And today as always, I’m going to start off by reading from the New International Version and the verse is Job 23, verse 10. “When he has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.” And has been our practice. I’m going to be reading from another translation and putting the verse more into context.
And today we’re going to be reading from the New Living Translation, Job 23:10-12. “But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold for I’ve stayed on God’s path. I have followed his ways and have not stepped aside. I have not departed from his command, but I have treasured his words more than daily food.”
Today I’m going to departing from my usual format for this series. Because today happens to be the day that Billy Graham passed on to be with his beloved Jesus. The last decade of Billy Graham’s life was full of physical and emotional pain. He was no longer in the limelight; he was no longer preaching before thousands. He could no longer do what he was born to do. And as he physically suffered, he no longer could lean against the one person, outside of Jesus, that he depended on, who was his right-hand person, who was his encourager and exhorter, and who was his life mate.
These three verses exemplify the man behind the preacher, behind the evangelist, behind the author, and behind the person who we are all quoting today across social media.
My heart’s prayer today is that I will be able to say with confidence, and without guile, on the day that I stand before my lord the words that Job spoke in chapter 23 verse 11 and 12. “For I stayed on God’s path, I have followed his ways and notMrrned aside. I have not departed from his commands but have treasured his words more than daily food.”
Mr. Graham, thank you for the example you’ve been in my life.
