[00:00:03] Hi and welcome back to Daily Bible Promises with a Twist. And today I’m going to start off with reading 1 Cor 2:9 from the NIV so if you want to look that up. We’re going to be switching back to the New American Standard Bible.

[00:00:19] And I really am hoping that if you who are the type of person who finds it difficult to rest on the promises of God and to trust that even if there are mysteries in our lives that you will see those mysteries can turn out to be wonderful things. I would really reassure you that by the time we end this little brief bit that you’re going to have a tool that you can use to rest in those mysteries in your life. So, let’s start off with the NIV.

[00:01:00] First Corinthians 2 verse 9

[00:01:02] No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what Gods has prepared for those who love him.”

[00:01:10] Now, I wanted to read that by itself because that was on the card. But that verse will not make a lot of sense unless we read from verse 7 to verse 10 and I’m reading in The New American Standard Bible. “But we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory; 8 the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory; 9 but just as it is written,

‘Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard,
And which have not entered the heart of man,
All that God has prepared for those who love Him.’

10 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.”

[00:02:00] I’m going to read the last bit of verse 9 again in the New American Standard. When I just read this verse again something clicked inside of me. All these things that I have not seen and ears have not heard and what hasn’t yet sunk into our heart. It hasn’t quite hit home yet. All these things God has prepared for those who love him and how do we understand those things? For it is to us that God revealed these things through the Spirit for the Spirit searches all things even the depths of God.

[00:02:59] So sometimes we have to bypass our own logical minds, our own rationalities, our own preconceptions and allow the Spirit to reveal these things directly to our spirit. We need to have heart-to-heart communication. But perhaps there are some question marks that you had all your Christian walk and you try to find Bible verses and you look them up and you listen to preachers and you’ve even bought books on the subject. But nothing has quite hit home yet.

[00:03:33] Take a step back and submit your heart to the Holy Spirit. Submit your spirit to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to reveal these things to you. It might be helpful for you to think of a child at Christmas time and are really smart parent and that child goes underneath the Christmas tree shaking all the boxes trying to figure out what’s in it. They look at their package and look at the handwriting they shake it, they smell it and they still can’t figure out what it is until Christmas Day. But there’s an anticipation that whatever is in that box it’s got to be something good because their dad gave it to them.

So today there are some things that you don’t yet. Know was in the box. Bring it to the Holy Spirit and allow him to unwrap it for you.
