You are not Wearing God Out

If you're in that place of not understanding what is happening and why it is happening, remember these foundational truths. God is good and He always has the intention to bring good to our lives and to bless us. And at the same time, remember that God is not ignoring you and that you are not wearing Him out by coming to Him with your needs.

Hi and welcome back to Daily Bible Promises with a Twist. And today, as usual, we’re going to be reading from the New International Version. And today’s verse is Isaiah 40 verse 28. “The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary.”

And we’re going to put that into context by reading for the New Living Translation verse 27 and 28 of chapter 40 in Isaiah “Oh Jacob how could you say the Lord does not see your troubles? O Israel how can you say God ignores your rights? Have you never heard? Have you never understood? the Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding.”

Now before we give Israel a rough time about forgetting all the things that God has done for them in the past, let’s look at ourselves first. Unfortunately, many of us suffer from short-term memory when it comes to the wonderful things that God has done in our lives. That’s why it’s important to write those things down to keep a journal or some sort of way of recording all the answers to prayer that you have seen so far. Whether that might be financial provision or God’s favour in a legal situation, it’s important that we at least make a mental note of those things.

I think sometimes we get into trouble when we are waiting on an answer to prayer when we assume that God thinks the same way that we do. We are finite creatures we don’t see the whole picture. We can hardly remember what happened last week, no matter what happened at the beginning of time, and what is still to occur centuries and millennium from now.

So often we expect God to do things the way that we think that we would do these things but if we were able to do the things that we’re asking Him to do we’d probably do them ourselves. Illogical but that’s how we think. Although He delights and encourages us to go to Him for further understanding about situations that we just are really puzzled over, sometimes our finite minds will never grasp exactly what God is doing behind the scenes 24/7.

If you’re in that place of not understanding what is happening and why it is happening, remember these foundational truths. God is good and He always has the intention to bring good to our lives and to bless us. And at the same time, remember that God is not ignoring you and that you are not wearing Him out by coming to Him with your needs. And He is not overwhelmed by the needs of the world. He’s there for you right now.

Perhaps you need to repent of assuming that you know the best way for God to work on your behalf.
