I’ve Been Robbed! Someone Stole My Joy!!

You cannot be robbed of your joy unless you choose to drop that joy and pick up offense, resentment, or bitterness in its place.

Have you ever come home from church or a revival meeting only to be met by a grouchy husband, unruly child or a cranky neighbour? Have you ever received a speeding ticket on your way to or from a meeting? No one and nothing can rob you of your joy unless you choose to drop that joy and pick up offense, resentment, or bitterness in its place.Did it feel like someone popped your joy balloon? Did you ever wake up the morning after a fabulous time with the Lord the night before only to feel like the Grinch robbed you of that blessing as you slept?

I have good news for you! No one and nothing can rob you of your joy unless you choose to drop that joy and pick up offence, resentment, or bitterness in its place.

It is understandable to feel sadness and grief at times of loss and to feel anger against injustice. It’s okay to feel vulnerable when attacked, but this truth remains. We never have to let go of His peace; His abiding joy dwells deep within us, far deeper than our circumstances. Our loving Savior is always present to bring His comfort, healing, and redemption. His blood was shed for our restoration.

It goes against biblical truth to live from a belief system that states your joy, peace, salvation and intimacy with God can be robbed from you by another person or circumstance. Even the enemy of your soul cannot rob you if you keep within the safety of your Shepherd’s sheepfold.

Remember, joy and happiness are not the same. Happiness is dependent on the way you perceive your circumstances and it can be fleeting. Joy remains.

Romans 8: 30-39 – “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Who will bring charges against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, but rather, was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or trouble, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? Just as it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We were regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
