[00:00:00] Hi, and welcome back to Daily Bible Promises with a Twist, and today we’re going to start with Isaiah 43:1 from the New International Version “I have called you by name. You are mine.” And in the New Living Translation, I’ll be reading the complete verse.
[00:00:13] Isaiah 43:1 “But now O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, ‘Do not be afraid for I have ransomed to you. I have called you by name. You are mine.'”
[00:00:30] God reassures Israel, but He also calls Israel by the former name of the founder of the nation of Israel, Jacob.
[00:00:42] God has redeemed you. He knows you by your birth name. He knows you by the name that He calls you now. Redeemed, loved, bought with a price. He has ransomed you.
[00:00:57] In the same way that a child, who thinks that they are lost, hears their name being called in a crowd and that name is being called by their papa. This is a comfort that God is sending to the children of Israel. “Do not be afraid. For I have ransomed you. I have called you by name. You are mine.”
[00:01:23] He always has His eye on you and He calls you by name. If you are experiencing fear of the unknown or if you are in fearful circumstances right now, listen to the voice of the Lord -He who called you by name, He who has ransomed you – and turn your attention towards the one who is calling you by name. Lift your arms up and allow Him to pick you up and carry you through wherever you are going through or whatever you are about to face.
